Mediation is a voluntary settlement process in which a neutral third party or parties helps disputing people or institutions to negotiate productively to resolve their differences. The mediator does not make decisions for the parties or pressure either side to settle. The impartial mediator acts solely as a facilitator of the parties’ negotiations, helping them to make informed, practical decisions to resolve the issues facing them.. Mediation is available in all areas of legal disputes, from neighbor disputes to the most complicated contracts, from personal injury to employment. In recent years Mediation has gained popularity as a non-confrontational way to resolve marital and family disputes.
