Katherine Bestine is a 1985 graduate of the State University of New York College at Buffalo and received her law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law (Ohio) in 1989. Admitted to the New York State Bar in 1990, Ms. Bestine joined Cohen and Lombardo, P.C. in 1995 and became a partner in 2000.

Ms. Bestine’s professional memberships include the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She is also a member of the Bar Association of Erie County which she has served as a Director and as Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee from 1994-1996. Ms. Bestine is also a member of the Matrimonial and Family Law Committee, Practice and Procedures in Family Court Committee, and the Judiciary Committee of the Erie County Bar Association. In addition, she is a past-president of the Women Lawyers of Western New York, and a member of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, Western New York Chapter. In 2005 the Women Lawyers of Western New York named her Lawyer of the Year. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. which assists private attorneys in the delivery of pro bono legal services to indigent individuals and not-for-profit organizations.

Ms. Bestine's community activities include serving as a member of the fund-raising committee for Kids Escaping Drugs and as a Trustee of the Village of Kenmore.
