Attorney Michelle Schwach |

Michelle Schwach is a lifelong resident of Western New York. After graduating from Nardin Academy, she received her degree in Psychology and Legal Studies cum laude from the University at Buffalo where she served as the Assistant Chief Justice for the University at Buffalo’s Student-Wide Judiciary, and was a scholarship athlete with the Division I rowing program. She also worked as a summer intern at Briffa Solicitors in London, England. |

Ms. Schwach graduated from the University at Buffalo Law School where she served on the Executive Boards for both the Buffalo Women’s Law Journal and the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review. While in law school, Ms. Schwach clerked for Erie County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk. She assisted non-profit organizations through the law school’s Community Economic Development Clinic and was IRS certified to prepare income tax returns on a volunteer basis for low income taxpayers. |

Before coming to Cohen & Lombardo, Ms. Schwach was the law clerk with in-house counsel at Independent Health Association, Inc. Her work took her into the areas of health care, employment, insurance and litigation. |

Ms. Schwach is a lawyer volunteer with the Erie County Volunteer Lawyers Project where she has conducted client intake, including clients seeking assistance with matrimonial and family law issues, has represented clients in unemployment benefits hearings, and has participated in VLP’s Buffalo City Housing Court Attorney of the Morning program. |

Ms. Schwach is a board member and an officer of the Association for a Buffalo Presidential Center. In her spare time, she enjoys running and sailing. |

Ms. Schwach is a member of the Matrimonial and Family Law Committee and the Committee on Practice and Procedures in Family Court of the Bar Association of Erie County. She is also a member of the Family Law and Young Lawyers Sections of the New York State Bar Association. She concentrates her practice in the areas of matrimonial and family law. |
