Neil R. Sherwood was born and raised in Western New York. He graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York College at Buffalo with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management information systems. Neil also obtained his Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo where he was a recipient of the Robert J. Connelly Award for excellence in trial advocacy, a precursor to his successful career as a trial attorney.

A highly experienced trial attorney, Neil has tried countless personal injury cases before the state and federal trial courts involving automobile accidents, products liability, and Labor Law violations. He has also handled a number of aviation cases. Neil brings his considerable talents and total commitment to all of his clients, whether they are individual litigants, contractors, corporations or insurers, to achieve a resolution of each case which is the best possible result for the client. Neil’s skill, knowledge and judgment have made him an arbitrator of choice of many litigants and attorneys. He has lectured on tort and Labor Law liability in seminars for adjusters, underwriters, contractors and legislators. Before entering the practice of law, Neil worked as an applications specialist in commercial and industrial electrical and electronic controls and equipment. He is a former emergency medical technician and Assistant Chief of the Newton Abbott Fire Company. His wealth of experience in these non-legal areas provides an enviable extra dimension of expertise in assisting many of his clients in their legal issues.

A partner in Cohen & Lombardo, P.C., Neil is admitted to practice in New York State and in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County, the Defense Research Institute, and the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Bar Association of Erie County's Committees on Negligence and Environmental Law.
