We are very pleased to announce that Terrie Benson Murray has become associated with the Firm. Terrie, a lifelong resident of Western New York, graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia, and earned her Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Law. Terrie comes to us from the UAW Legal Services Plan, which is a prepaid legal benefit program provided by the Big Three automakers for their union employees. She managed two of their local offices for over 17 years, and provided legal representation to hundreds of Western New York autoworkers, most recently in the areas of Estates and Trusts and Bankruptcy. Over the years with the Legal Services Plan, she has also practiced in the areas of real estate, adoptions, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act litigation in federal court, matrimonial and family practice, and civil litigation. Terrie will continue her practice in the areas of estate planning, wills, estates and trusts. Welcome aboard Terrie.
Congratulations to nurse consultant Diane Reboy who has, because of her tenure as a Diplomat and commitment to the profession, become eligible for Fellow Status in the American College of Forensic Examiners. Fellow Status is the highest honor the ACFEI can bestow on a member. Great job Diane.
Congratulations to Amy Vigneron who has been named to the Board of Directors of the Joan A. Male Family Support Center Foundation. The Joan A. Male Family Support Center is a non-profit organization founded in 1973 by three volunteers in the basement of Joan Male and has grown to be the only 24-hour phone and in-home crisis intervention program in Erie County. The mission of the center is to offer support to parents and children in family crisis in order to keep the children of Erie County safe and loved and ending the generational cycle of violence by empowering families through guided self-help programs. Thank you, Amy, for your commitment to the community.
We also are pleased to announce that Stuart B. Shapiro was elected to the Board of Directors of the Les Amis Fencing Club. Stuart, who was a state champion swordsman in high school, took up the sport again last year after verbally Fencing with attorneys representing opposing parties for over 20 years.
We are also pleased to announce that on November 11, 2006, Attorney Melissa A. Cavagnaro married Stephen H. Mort. The ceremony was held at St. Louis Church in Buffalo followed by a reception at the Statler TowersTerrace Room. Melissa and Steve honeymooned in Mustique. Congratulations Melissa and Steve.
